Key is a minimalist design created by Denmark-based designer GamFratesi. Invited by One Nordic to design a side table for their collection, we where inspired to combine the aesthetic of a high quality crafted wooden piece, as to our Danish tradition, with the challenge of a functional flatpack assembly system which One Nordic is based on.

Key Table consists of a beautiful wooden table top turned in massive ash and a light metal structure. The project is based on a particular locking system referring to a tripod mechanism. Traditionally a crafted wooden furniture would have a complex wooden joinery to connect the elements. We have translated the classic joinery into a connection system, with a small plastic element, which combines the traditional Scandinavian crafted piece with a technical element. The table has an unexpected solution and very simple approach, where the assembling is made just by turning the two plastic elements into each other.
