{"id":40,"date":"2018-03-23T10:00:14","date_gmt":"2018-03-23T10:00:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/liviucerchez.com\/papaia\/?p=40"},"modified":"2018-03-28T17:44:59","modified_gmt":"2018-03-28T15:44:59","slug":"mmm-flapjacks-for-breakfast","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/liviucerchez.com\/papaia\/2018\/03\/mmm-flapjacks-for-breakfast\/","title":{"rendered":"Mmm, flapjacks for breakfast"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>They are also a great way to disguise the fact that you are essentially eating a dessert for breakfast, but I won\u2019t tell anyone if you don\u2019t.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients (for 10-12 flapjacks):<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>1 cup sifted flour<\/li>\n<li>2 tsp baking powder<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 tsp salt<\/li>\n<li>2 tbsp sugar<\/li>\n<li>1 egg<\/li>\n<li>1 cup milk<\/li>\n<li>3 tbsp butter, melted<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Method:<\/strong><br \/>\nSift the dry ingredients together into a mixing bowl.<\/p>\n<p>In another bowl beat the egg, adding in the milk and butter until well blended.<\/p>\n<p>Pour the egg mixture into the dry ingredients and beat until combined.<\/p>\n<p>The batter will be slightly lumpy, but that\u2019s fine. Let the mix rest for 20 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Place a large pan over a medium heat, add 2 tablespoons of batter per flapjack and cook until bubbles form on the surface.<\/p>\n<p>Turn the flapjacks over and cook for another 2 minutes, or until nicely browned.<\/p>\n<p>These flapjacks go well with a mixed berry compote.\u00a0Stack 6-8 flapjacks on top of each other, pour over some cream and maple syrup and top with a mixed berry compote.
